Kako Bai needs our help!

Kako Bai is a strong Lady from Malpurya village, which is 8 km away from Jadan. She is 60 years old and she has 3 sun and one daughter. Her 2 sons are working outside the village in Pali and Mumbai and one is farmer im Malpurya, her daughter is with her. The family is living with appr. 3000 ind. Rupees monthly.
One year ago she had an accident in her home, she slipped on the floor and fall very badly. After this accident she did'nt get any treatment or examination , she was not brought to a Doctor for help, she was alone in misery. After this she was not any more able to fulfill her daily duties at home because she couldnt stand or sit any more. She came to us in the Malpurya Camp only by roping on the earth, because she can't use any more the right leg. The bones are already joint but in a complete wrong direction - so all her working possibilities are reduced to zero, she can only rope on the floor.We took her to the hospital,where she get the first X-ray of the leg, which shows a fracture in the right hip joint but also a fracture in the femur. All is already in calcification but the bones joint in a wrong position. Also the joints,ligaments and muscles of the whole leg are reduced and the whole leg is complitly stiff. another problem is that se cannot see on both eyes due to catharract.Our Hospital provide her tomorrow a free eye operation. In the morning our Ambulance car will fatch her from her home and bring her to the Hospital for operation. The catarract operation will be done the same day.

We decided to do our best to help her!She will need an artificial hip joint,which is extremly costly and must be done in a special clinique. Afterwards she will need also a long time of rehabilatation too. If it is possible please help so that we can make this operation possible! Free Eye Camp

The Sri SWAMI MADHAVANANDA Austria HOSPITAL in JADAN offered on Sunday, 10th April, a free Eye camp in the Hospital for the needy villagers. 245 patients where checked by Dr. G. K. Goyal and his team in the camp and we selected 11 patients for free eye operations. The selected patients will be operated today by the Eye specialist Dr. G.K. Goyal. The free services like medicines, consultations and transportation where provided by our hospital. Operated eye patients will be kept for one day in the hospital ward , getting medical observation and free food. Thanks to all helpers , donors, well wishers, doctors and hospital team who made this possible!

Thanks to Mrs. Phuli Devi

Mrs.Phuli Devi is the most joyful person of our staff. She is taking care of the kitchen and preparing the food for all staff members. She is 40 years old, married and has 4 children, 3 boys and 1 daughter. Her husband Narayan Lal, is a painter in our workshop. They are both living in the worker quarter. The oldest son, 21a, is learning pharmacy at Falna(and has to be supported financially) , the other 2 children are students of the Gyan Putra school of the Ashram. The daughter is still unmarried, she finished the 9th school class. Both parents have now to earn the money (appr. 4000 Euros) for her marriage, which is a very high amount for them. Phuli Devi is working since 1,5 years in our hospital and I saw her only smiling day by day. She is for me the sunlight of this big hospital and even we cannot communicate very well it is always a pleasure to see her and feel her positive vibration. Also the food she is preparing for all of us is very good and this has also to do something with her positive and lovingly nature.
I asked her for a statement – so she just told: ‘I love my work and I like to be here. All are nice to me and they appreciate my cooking.’ Thank you Phuli Devi for your services and we wish you a long and happy life!

Physiotherapy is a Healing Method

On 14th of march M. B.K.Bhardwaj, 59 years old man from Marwar Junction, working in the Indian Railway. He came with severe neck pain which was radiating in both hands and with kibbling sensations. He suffered of this already since 6 month and he could not work properly, because of pain. Till now he got only symptomatically treatment , like painkillers and muscle relaxants. First of all we advised him to get an X -Ray from his cervical spine. The diagnosis was that he has a severe compression between 2 vertebras. Dr. Dhananjay, the Physiotherapist of our hospital, advised him to make a special treatment for 7 days at the beginning. Dr. Dhananjay made a manual manipulation on his neck and put him also on the cervical traction unit. M. B.K. Bhardwaj was also advised to make daily twice isometric and isotonic neck exercises.
After the 7 days treatment the patient get completely relief from his pain but was advised to continue the treatment for another 2 or 3 weeks more. ‘I am very happy that I got this treatment in the Sri Swami Madhavananda Austria Hospital and that I feel so good after only 1 week treatment and without taking any medicines, only with the help of the Physiotherapy. I will tell to many people in Marwar Junction about this excellent Physiotherapy department.Thank you very much.'

Dental Health camp in Jadan village

Dr. Abishek Dadhic, dentist of our hospital, conducted a Dental Health camp on 13.March 2012 in the Government school of Jadan village. The children of the Primary school, students in the age of 6 to 14 years, the classes 1 to 8, participated with big interest in the camp. Dr. Dadhic instructed them in brushing techniques, oral hygiene and general hygiene, but also in healthy food and prevention of dental diseases. Around 250 toothpaste and toothbrushes where distributed among the children along with an education chart.This children came from rural area villages, families living mostly in simple huts without electricity and water. Mostly the oral hygiene consists in cleaning the teeth with finger and ashes, which is not the proper way to get clean teeth and gums. We hope that they will follow our advises, becoming an example in their families and become aware of the importance of dental care for the wellbeing of the general health.

Wrong treatment and correct treatment, the destiny of a farmer

On the 11. Feb. M. Kanha Ram came in our hospital. He is a 60years old farmer from Jadan village. He had since one year big problems with his right shoulder. He could not lift up his arm and not work with both hands in farming, due to severe pain. One friend of him told him that in a nearby village there is a man healing with hot iron rode. So he decided to go to this man searching for help. He reached at his home the next day. The man, who had no medical education at all, but pretending to be able to cure people, heated an iron rode in the open fire and touched with the glowing iron rode the top of the shoulder of Kanha Ram and hold it there for a while. It was a terrible pain and Khana Ram was screaming loudly. It took him 3 weeks that the wound was healing but no success concerning his shoulder problem.
Our Hospital gives free consultations to the Jadan village and so he came to us searching for a professional help. Our senior Dr., Dr. Arora make the diagnosis that he has a frozzen shoulder and referred him to our Physiotherapist Dr. Dhananjay. He started a treatment with Ultrasound therapy, Short wave Diathermy and special exercises to improve the function of the shoulder joint. Kanha Ramis is very happy now that finaly his shoulder becomes better and better. He started already to work again as a farmer, which work he had to stop for already one year.

Postgraduate Hygiene Education by Dr. Vera SPATENKOVA

On 21. Feb. 2012 we had the honour to welcome Dr. Vera SPATENKOVA M.D., Ph.D, Head of the Neurological – Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit, Neurocentre, Liberec, teaches at Medical Faculty, Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic, Europe. She made a post graduated education about Hygiene and Sterilization for the doctors and nurses of our hospital. Dr. Spatenkova gave a verz inetersting lecture but also she gave many practical advises to our nurses about the proper use and preparation of sterilization and hygiene. Our whole team was very thankful to her that she took the time to gave us this very precious and important instructions.We will do our best to follow her advises.

Hospital staff is going to a village giving free services

It is a big action when our hospital staff with doctors, nurses, equipments and medicines is going in our ambulance car to the villages TO MAKE A FREE MEDICAL CAMP. Mostly there is nothing prepared there, except a small naked room....So we have to adapt everything: tables, chairs, lights,instruments, dental chair for our dentist, registrations, flyers etc. etc. 3-4 days before we make advertisement in the village and around area with car and loudspeaker, distributing flyers, so that people know that we will give free medical services on this or that day.Our whole team is occupied the whole day, morning till evening, to make this camp possible.Few members of course remain in the Hospital to provide all medical facilities there. People of the village in this rural area have very rare opportunity to see and consult doctors - that's why this kind of service is very useful for them and free of costs.They are thankful and happy about this. In each and every camp we select patients for eye operations which will be performed afterwards. We thank all donors to make this service possible so that our brothers and sisters of this rural areas, can benefit from medical services.Our staff also is very happy to serve there. A lot of thanks to them also!

Story of Prathvi Singh

Prathvi Singh is a farmer in Malpuriya Kalla village. He has 5 children, 3 boys and two daughters, which are already married, living far away with their husbands family. He has an income from approximately 3000 rupees per month (appr.50 EUR) for a family with 4 members at present.For this people in the very rural areas the visit of a doctor, transportation, cost of medicines etc. is a big problem and many cannot enforce the most simple medical examinations and treatments.
Since 9 month Pathvi Singh has a tumor on the right side of his neck. He went to our hospital where Dr. Radesh Vyas, our general surgeon, saw him and diagnosed a cancer disease. He recommended him to go to a big hospital in Jodhpur for operation. But Prathvi Singh didn’t do it, because he is much afraid before the operation. He visited Dr. Vyas another 2 times for symptomatically therapy but he could not be convinced to go for operation. This time,when we came to his village Malpuriya Kalla, where the hospital was holding a free camp, he came again to us. Dr. Vyas and me, both we tried to motivate him to go for operation, telling him that his children in the age of 19 – 23 years are in urgent need of their father. He listened carefully and promised to go for operation and we promised him to stay in contact with him any time if he needs our help. He can get the operation and all medicines even for free in the Mathur Das Government Hospital in Jodhpur, because he has an identity card that his family is under the poverty line and for them the Indian government provides free medical services. With all our best wishes and the promise to stay in touch with us we let him go. May God bless his way and may the operation will give him long life and good health.

Eye Operations done successfully

On the beginning of this year we sponsored 6 eye operations, mostly because of s by Dr. G.K. Goyal on behalf of our hospital. On the camp day approximately 50 patients (out of 220) came because of eye problems. They get consultations, advise and free medicines from our hospital. In the photo you can see all patients from left to right.
M.Abduk Rakeeb, 55 year old man from Sojat city, Mrs. Urmilla Gaur, 65 years old lady from Pali, 60 year old lady Kuki Devi and 55 year old Phully Devi from Khardi village and Geeta Davi and Arjun Lal from same family from Devgardh,were all operated on 15 January by Dr. G.K.Goyal, Pali. After the operation we provided them free stay in the hospital, free eye medicines, food and eyeglasses. All operations were successful done and all patients were very happy when the bandage over the eye was removed and for first time they had a normal vision on that eye. All were very happy and our whole staff as well.

First free camp in 2012

On Thursday, 15th of January 2012,our hospital invited for a free medical camp in the hospital. We had the bone and joint surgeon Dr. Kailash Parihar from Pali as specialized doctor who treated about 40 patients in need of orthopedic treatment.
All in all we had 200 patients who came from nearby villages,in about 20km distance from Jadan. Also our new Physiotherapist Dr.Dhananjay Varma gave treatment and exercises according to the advise of Dr.Parihar. Our general surgeon, Dr.Rajesh Vyas, was also present in the camp and selected some patients for small operations.
The general health check up was done by Dr. Arora Govind Narayan. Due to the cold weather patients came mostly with complain of fever, cold and viral infections.
Thanks to all donors we could give free medicines (in the value of app. 100EUR) to our patients. Also the doctors and all staff are working for free in this camp. Thanks to all! Donations for the medicines which we need in our next camp are most welcome!In the camps are coming really the people who are in need of our help. Next camp will be in the small village Malpura in February. Thank you in advance.

Heath checkup of Schoolchildren on 5.1.2012

We started the New Year with a Health Checkup of two classes of our
Sri Vishwa Deep Gurukul Secondary School. Our doctors made a general medical checkup (Dr. Arora Govind Narayan, MBBS), an Eye Checkup with Dr. Erzsebet Szabo and a dental checkup with Dr. Abishek Dhadich. Dr.Erzsebet Szabo is eye specialist, coming from Strasbourg in France. She came in our hospital as a volunteering doctor for three weeks. We are very thankful for her work here, serving the people of Rajasthan, where eye diseases are very common.
Here the result of the examinations of 200 students in the age between 15 and 18 years:
Dental diseases: 70%, Eye problems: 30%, Anaemia: 30%, Skeletal problems: 5%, Obesiasis: 3%, Ear problems: 3%, Skin problems: 3%
You can see that the medical control of this children shows that it is for the well being and the health of our indian students absolutely necessary to be under the observation, examination and treatment of medical doctors.
We hope that all children will have better results in the next medical examination and that their parents allow the treatments for them. We wish the children good luck, good health and happiness.

Free Medical Check Up Camp at Khardi Village on 15 th Dec.

On the eve of Mahasamadhi day of Shree Deep Narayan Mahaprabhji the Hospital staff went to the Khardi village, which is a few kilometers far from our hospital. More than 250 patient get free consultation and treatment. We also provided them free medicine, general nursing and some laboratory tests. Dentist Dr.Abhishek Dadhich and Senior Doctor Dr. G.N. Arora where this time more than six hours in the village so that all people could get benefit of their medical help. Both tried their best to serve the villagers. Thanks to all our supporter and donors who are making big efforts to improve the Rural Health Condition in Rajasthan.

We got a top washing machine from our friends in Villach!

Archna, who is nurse in an emergency department in a big hospital of Villach, Kärtnen, South of Austria, was this year in India and visited our hospital. When she realized that we are giving the laundry of the hospital to a washman in the village, who is washing the bed sheets by hand and drying in the sun, she spontaneously decided to try to get donations in Austria for a proper washing machine. She was asking in the hospital where she is working doctors, colleges, friends to support this activity and she was quite successful. Even her two children 14 and 16 years old donated some of their pocket money for the machine. When Sadhvi Shanti came to Villach on 9. Dec. with a photo presentation of Mt. Kailash, she could give her the donation of 540 Euros to buy a good washing machine with all programs, so that the bed sheets can be washed now with 95 degrees. We thank her very much. Also we thank to Bhaktanand, who is every year organizing with great success a flee market for our hospital. Big thanks to Villach donors and active helpers!

Mangilal get relieve from kneeproblems, thanks to Dr. Parihar

Mangilal Ram is a farmer from Sonia, distr. Pali, who had problems with his knees since five years with pain and swelling over the left knee. He visited many different doctors but he didn’t get relieve from his pain. Even three times an aspiration of the joint was done, where fluid was aspirated, but nothing helped till now. Two weeks ago Dr.Parihar, Orthopedic Surgeon, examined him and gave him a good healing plan: he prescribed him Analgesics and medicines for a few days to reduce the swelling and pain, but recommended him specially to make Physiotherapy for 6 month, 3 times per week. And he promised him that if he will make this exercises regularly and come to the Electro Physiotherapy, he will be better very soon. He is coming now in our Physiotherapy center where he gets best treatment with Electrotherapy, Ultrasound and exercises. He is already much better, following strictly the advice of the doctor, making his exercises with great discipline. We wish him all the best for his completely recovery.

Story:Mangala Ram’s hand was saved

“I am so lucky and thankful to Austria Hospital because I got the chance to get the treatment here and so my right hand thumb was saved.” These are words of Mangala Ram, a poor farmer of KANVAS Village. Mangala Ram is a 45 years old farmer, working as a Thrasher on a trashing machine.
‘’I started to work in the morning of the 16. Nov., as usual, but all of a sudden my hand slipped in the machine, I felt a terrible pain and everything was completely full with blood within a second. It seems to me that I lost my fingers and I was very afraid about this. I have 2 children and a family which I have to feed, who will help them if I cannot work anymore? Another worker, who was beside me, put a thick piece of cloth over my hand and tried to find a possibility to reach a doctor. It was a terrible time for me, I cannot think on this anymore.’’ In rural area it is very difficult to find quickly a public transportation. So he started to walk with his college, who supported him, to the nearest bus stop and so they reached the SSMA AUSTRIA HOSPITAL, JADAN. Our hospital team attended him already as he was announced as Emergency Patient. We immediately put him into the Minor Operation Theater and our doctor started with the treatment. He had a major and deep cut on his right hand side thumb. Before stitching his thumb was looking almost like it was separated from the other part of the hand and we were all afraid that the thumb would be lost. But the Doctor made 5 stitches inside and 5 stitches from outside and saved his hand with the thumb on it. We were all glad about it. We kept the farmer for another day in the hospital for observation, but all went fine and no problem occurred in the healing process afterwards.
It took of course some time till the deep wound healed completely, but Mangala Ram was so happy that he kept his thumb and can continue to work as a Trasher in the future. ’’Thank you all team of hospital, you saved my life and the future of my family.’’ Mangala Ram got the treatment at the right time and we could save his hand thanks to God. Now he is very happy and our hospital team is happy with him.

Help is needed for english/german &german/english translation

May be you can help us? We need to translate sometimes for the Hospital from english to german and another time from german to english.
In the moment we search urgently somebody to translate the small vegetarian cooking booklets , which Eva(Gayatri) from Vienna was writing. They are in German but we want to distribute them also in English so that many people will have access to this excellent, very practical and healthy cook booklets.
We hope that St Claus will provide us this help!

'When Gods are dancing'': charity event in Vienna

We had in Vienna on Tuesday 29.11.11.evening a wonderful INDIAN DANCE evening with BHAKTI DEVI (Indische Tanzschule Bharatnatyam), who gave a perfect dance performance. We were all very impressed about her dance abilities and enjoyed very much the whole program. With Jasmin as speaker, Bhavani and Nidhi from the dance school and Bhakti Devi we were witnessing the ancient dances in honor of Lord Shiva and other Goddesses. It was a charity event and the donations are going to the Jadan Hospital(Sri Swami Madhavananda Austria Hospital). A dentist friend of Sadhvi Shanti was sponsoring the evening and many of his patients were enjoying the performance. We are very thankful for all the kindness, support and help we got on this evening to give medical help to the needy one in Rajasthan.
